Description/Indication:
Doxycycline belongs to the group of tetracyclines and acts bacteriostatic against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria like Bordetella, Campylobacter, E. coli, Haemophilus, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus and Streptococcus spp. Doxycycline is also active against Chlamydia, Mycoplasma and Rickettsia spp.  Doxycycline has good affinity towards the lungs and is therefore especially useful for treatment of bacterial respiratory infections in cattle, poultry, goat, sheep and swine.

Administration & Dosage:  
Oral administration via drinking water or feed, for 3 - 5 days.

• Cattle, goat and sheep: Twice daily 1 g / 40 kg of b.w for 3 - 5 days.
• Swine: 10 g / 200 kg of b.w per day or 40 g / 100 litres of drinking water for 3 - 5 days.
• Poultry: 10 g / 80 - 100 kg of b.w. or 100 g per 200 - 300 litres of drinking water for 3 - 5 days.

Preventive dosage: half the recommended dosage.

Withdrawal period: 
Withdraw 14 days before slaughter in cattle, goat and sheep.

Withdraw 5 days before slaughter in poultry.
